At Performedge, we know that customers often use multiple brands and suppliers for their carbide tools. That is why we made sure that we were capable in reproducing OEM quality on all the major brands.
You may of heard the terms 'Factory Trained' and 'Authorized Regrinder". Don't be misled by these phrases! For most major suppliers, factory training is no more than a two day session. We know because one of our founders was a factory trainer for many years.
What is important, is the ability to consistently reproduce OEM quality day after day. To do this takes 3 to 6 months of training for the average operator. Training on drill point geometries, CNC programming, and detailed inspection procedures. After mastering that, there is edge preparation training. This is usually another 3 months before operators can combine the 'feel' and knowledge of how to do it right to our standards every time on every type of drill.
